The SXSW was a very exciting event again. This time I’ve listened to lectures related to managing digital product development and management in general. Some quotes got stuck:
Paradox of lean startup: do something small to conquer the world. In companies, there is no commitment for iteration
Managers care about growth, not innovation.
Don’t ask for more money unless you have learning.
Entrepreneurship has to be a corporation function.
If you hate big companies, why do you try to build a new one?
The job of the CEO is not to preserve the culture, but to change it. This is good. Stop whining about it.
The product is the product. The culture is the next 100 products.
If you ask people to weigh, you get the negative.
You aren’t a startup anymore when you have employees, i.e.: not everybody is on a mission, instead they ask for a career.
I made a lot of mistakes because I made decisions based on numbers, not culture.
You got to let people know where they stand.
You make choices and have to live with the consequences.
High potential always looks the same: smart, drive, likability.
On interviewing: Learn about your biasis.
Accept and embrace change. Human can hear everything as long as it true.
