This it is. My first blog. As the chief product officer of XING, I am lucky that I can work every day on the management of developing digital products. I am interested how good product management emerges.
Product management happens on two levels: first order effects are about developing the right products. Second order effects are concerned with the right product management across many products. I.e., the product management becomes the product that has to be developed. This second order product management in a company is done by selecting and promoting people, implementing proper processes and tools, as well as the defining the strategy and organizational form.
The focus of this blog is on the second-order effects. Here I would like to cover three categories:
- Collecting of interesting articles
- Presenting my own thoughts
- Sharing of practical experiences that we make at XING
